Two persons were killed while 15 others sustained various degrees of injuries in a multiple road accident which occurred on Wednesday at Ayedere-Obada Oko axis along Lagos-Abeokuta Express way. The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) Public Relations Officer, Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the accident.
Akinbiyi disclosed that the accident involved a white truck with the registration number 44F95FG and a wine colour Almera car with the registration number TTD 884AA and a White commercial bus with registration number FST435XD.He attributed the cause of the accident to break failure as a result of speeding by the truck driver whose truck was loaded with granite.


According to him, the truck driver lost control and rammed into the car from behind leading to the car hitting the bus also from behind.

Akinbiyi added that the truck driver and his motor boy and five passengers, including the driver were in the car while 10 persons, including the driver and the conductor were the occupants of the bus.
He disclosed that the corpses of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi Aba, Abeokuta, while those injured had been taken to Joseph and Christiana Specialist Hospital, Oke-Ilewo Abeokuta.




The TRACE PRO, therefore warned motorists to desist from over-speeding and endeavor to carry out adequate maintenance on their vehicles before plying the roads.
