Efforts are ongoing to bring Ooni of Ife’s first wife, Olori Bukola Bombata Ogunwusi back home from the United Kingdom where she has been on exile since Wuraola took over the palace.
According to sources close to the Royal Family, when Ogunwusi met Wuraola, they both agreed that she will be his only wife. Sadly the promise took another twist after the coronation when Wuraola was informed that the Ooni can never marry a wife. However, the drunk in love Oba still maintained that Wuraola will be his only wife .
To fulfill his promise, we learnt Ooni of Ife first downgraded his wife to a commoner before ordering her to relocate to the United Kingdom even as Wuraola said she was uncomfortable with her presence at the palace.
Though she approached some of her husband’s friends then, but all their efforts to get the monarch to consider her failed.
As we speak, she is set to return to the palace to take her rightful place as Ogunwusi’s first Queen.
