Two men who share the same girlfriend are currently at logger-heads and locked in custody battle after the young lady delivered a baby in Warri, Delta state.
The men identified as Tosin Ajayi and Kesiena Tito, are reportedly fighting over which one of them is the father of baby Emmanuel Omkhode Ajayi.
Ajayi was arrested by men of the Delta state police command after Tito filed a ‘threat to life’ petition against him in Warri. According to reports, 23-year-old Ajayi has been living with his girlfriend, Blessing Iroroteh, since 2015 and she welcomed baby Emmanuel in 2017.
He also maintained that his elder sister took care of the medical bills when the baby came.
Ajayi also claimed that Blessing’s mother stayed with them for two months after the baby came, leaving him shocked when she later dragged her daughter to Tito’s house, saying he was the actual father of the baby.
He said: “I was at home when police came to arrest and took me to the area command.” He said Tito’s family forced him to say he was not Emmanuel’s father at the police station, claiming that they gave him N100,000 and made him sign an undertaking that he was not the father.
However, Ajayi still maintains he is Emmanuel’s father, saying: “I am the owner of the baby. I don’t want to sell my child. They should go ahead with the DNA but that other man should pay for it.”
In a contrary view, Kesiena Tito claimed to have dated Blessing, mother of the contending baby boy for five years pointing out that they separated ten months ago over an unresolved issue before she was delivered of the baby at Ajayi’s house.
Kesiena who hails from Ophorigbala Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area stated that he has been responsible for education of Blessing all these years.
He insisted that he is the owner of the child saying, “We were dating before for the past five years before she left me for. The baby is my own.”
While trying to clear the air, Blessing said she only moved to Ajayi’s house because she assumed Tito wasn’t going to accept the pregnancy as his.
She said her mother knew that Tito was Emmanuel’s father and she allowed Ajayi host a child dedication ceremony for the baby. The police has however ordered a DNA test, saying that the matter should be referred to the court.
