A teenage girl was saved from ritualists at Canoe area of Ejigbo, Lagos, when her uncle drove by at the time she was about being taken away.
An eyewitness, Ogechi Vincent Udeh, explained that “she took the girl from Ajao Estate, all in the name of looking for a warehouse.
“The girl was hypnotised and acted under her instructions, by following the woman from Ajao Estate to Canoe area. “Two men came to join them and said that they had been looking for the woman. They said she was from Togo and could not speak English Language. “One of them, who claimed to understand French, interpreted that the woman was looking for a warehouse, the other said that a warehouse could be located in Ejigbo.
“As they were about to board a tricycle to Ejigbo, the girl saw her uncle’s car drive past and flagged it down.
Her uncle instructed her to go home and walked towards his vehicle. “Thereafter, the woman came out from hiding, went to the girl and told her that they should continue with their journey. “The uncle immediately came back and and held the woman.
To our surprise, the woman, who earlier claimed she was Togolese, started speaking Igbo dialect. “A mob gathered and started beating her. She then confessed that she intended to use her to collect money from her parents and thereafter, sell her to ritualists.” The woman was stripped Unclad and was about being lynched when a Police patrol van arrived the scene and whisked her away.”
