Veteran Nollywood actor, poet and writer Chief Adebayo Faleti has been reported dead in Ibadan, Oyo state. He died at the age of 86 years old. According to Daily Post, late Faleti died around 6am on Sunday, July 23, at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. He was an alumni of the Ibadan Boys High school.
However, immediate family members have confirmed his death as well as his body taken to the anatomy section of the UCH.


Late Chief Faleti happened to be one of the pioneer staff of the first television station in Africa, Western Nigeria Television (WNTV). 
The deceased was responsible for the translation of Nigeria’s National Anthem form English to Yoruba. He also translated speeches being made by military president of Nigeria Ibrahim Babangida and Chief Ernest Shonekan, Head of National Interim Government of Nigeria, from English to Yoruba.
