A doctor who stopped by the roadside to help some accident victims has ended up suffering an unspeakable tragedy herself.
Cynthia Ray died in the accident
Cynthia Ray, a 47-year-old doctor who stopped to help passengers in an overturned car died after being struck by a car herself.
According to Metro UK, Cynthia Ray succumbed to her injuries Wednesday after she was hit on Sunday, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Ray had stopped on her way to work at Henry Ford Hospital, where she was an interventional pulmonologist, when she saw an overturned Jeep on I-96 and tried to help six teenagers trapped inside.
A car pulled around a curve and hit her, authorities said.

Sean English, who also stopped, was also hit and had to have his foot amputated following the collision.  His family set up a fund for his medical bills.
A Gofundme page said: ‘Sunday morning, April 2, 2017 Sean was hit by a car while doing what he does best, helping others in need. Sean and his parents stopped when they saw a jeep full of 6 teenagers rolled over.
‘As they were helping another car came and hit Sean and another woman. Sean is now in critical condition. Both legs are broken, a crushed pelvis, and they had to amputate part of his foot.

‘He is now on a ventilator because of how much pain he is facing. The doctors want his body to heal the best way possible. Of course, Sean was joking with doctors before surgeries yesterday and was worried about his homework.
‘However, he has many more battles to come and it will be a long road to recovery. Sean and his family are always stepping up and helping others.
‘Please help give back in any way that you can. I would like to take as much stress away as possible. Help with medical bills, buy some meals, get something nice for Sean and his family, physical therapy in the future, etc.’
The driver of the vehicle that hit the people trying to help also was injured.
