A shocking video has emerged showing a piglet with two heads in China leaving people baffled as to what could have caused the problem.

A poor little piglet has been born with two heads and is being kept as a pet instead of being raised for slaughter, Dailymail has reported.

 

The animal lives on a farm in China and is being taken care of by its owner, who has separated it from its siblings in the same litter. 

 

The piglet is already a few weeks old, and footage shows it able to walk around on its own despite its bizarre conjoined head. It still appears slightly unstable and wobbles as it tries to orientate itself with its eyes, of which there are two on either side of its two heads.

The third and fourth eyes appear not to have developed properly and would have been somewhere in the middle of the two heads.

 

Amazingly, the piglet is able to eat, though it is unclear out of which mouth it feeds. Despite having survived for a few weeks, the animal, whose condition is the result of a freak genetic mutation, is unlikely to survive until adulthood.

 

Though if it does live a longer than expected life, its owners do not plan to slaughter it and turn it into bacon. Experts have yet to comment to say how long the piglet is likely to live.
